Sweet & Spicy Schezwan Chicken Lollipop:
So on Eid day, I made a yummy starter for my family which was really a HIT😛.. Ever since I saw my friend Sadia’s post of Schezwan style Chicken Lollipop on her yummy blog-Savory and Sweet Food ( do check her amazing space), i was waiting for an occasion to try it out..the recipe of schezwan sauce was originally from sanjeevkapoorkhazana ..
I made some twists on the original recipe according to my family’s taste buds..in short, everyone loved it😊!!
here I am taking this to Angie’s amazing party😃
So here is the recipe..
Ingredients:
chicken wing pcs- as per needed( i took 15.ie, 1 packet)
lemon juice-of 1 big lemon
black pepper powder-1 spoon
oil-for deep frying
for Batter:
Green Chilly paste -made out of 4
red chilly flakes-1spoon
All purpose flour-1/4 cup
corn starch – 3 spoon
hot sauce-1 spoon
egg-2
kashmiri chilly-1 spoon
chilly powder-1/2 tespoon
G&G paste-2 spoon
soya sauce-1/2 teaspoon
salt-as per needed
For Schezwan Sauce:
red chilly-6( soaked in hot water & pasted )
ginger-2 big pc( finely chopped)
garlic-2 whole( finely chopped )
Honey-4 spoon
sugar-1 spoon
Vinegar-1/2 spoon
Soya sauce-1 teaspoon
tomato ketchup-4 spoon
olive oil-2 spoon
black pepper-1/2 teaspoon
tomato paste-2 spoon( i used this as the color factor instead of artificial colouring..)
How to make:
1)first of all mix lemon juice, salt & pepper powder together and marinate this to the chicken.. Keep it aside!!
2)now let’s prepare the batter for deep frying..mix all the above mentioned ingredients together to a smooth thick batter without lumps..
3)marinate chicken to this batter well and refrigerate atleast for 2 hours..
4)now lets prepare the sauce..heat the pan.. Add oil.. When its heated add the Ginger, garlic and chilli paste.. Saute well till it becomes soft & tender..
5)now add the red chilly paste & saute well .. The rawness should be gone..
6)add tomato paste and all the other mentioned ingredients..cook well and add more spice / sweet ingredients as per taste.. I balanced the spiciness with the rich Honey and ketchup taste..
7)off the flame when it reaches a thick sticky consistency..
8)now deep fry the chicken to golden colour and place it on tissue paper to remove excess oil..
9)now dip the fried chicken on prepared sauce and spread well on it..
so our yummy lollipops are ready😃!!
This is really an amazing starter which everyone would love😍!!very quick recipe too..
Njoy folks😊!!

Wow, these look so delicious, and of course they are adorable too because of their lollipop shape and name. What is G & G sauce? I have to make this so I am wondering about what a good substitute would be. Thanks!
